Welcome to Clay's!
(The finest website and brew-pub for all of us with too many hobbies!)
GUN STORE
Hello and welcome to the website! My name is Clay Hughes and I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I am an Eagle
Scout, Brewmaster, Mechanic, SCUBA Diver, amateur welder, Inventor, Fabricator, on-again off-again college
student,
Combat Veteran, Handy-Man, experimental parachute test jumper, and Beer aficionado.

When I'm not out riding my 2006 BMW R1200GS, I enjoy tinkering with my ongoing
1960 Land Rover Restoration
project.

I like to
home brew my own beer but my favorite commercial beer is Guinness on tap. My all time favorite liquor is
Jagermeister.

I have been an Infantryman and Mechanic in the US Army and am currently a Military Police Staff Sergeant in the
National Guard. I served in Iraq from March to November 2004, mostly in Baghdad and Najaf. I was awarded the
Combat Infantryman Badge for ground combat engagements, most memorably for me a 16 day firefight in Najaf
in August of 2004. You can see more on my
Iraq pages.

So why do I have a website? Well, just for the hell of it I guess. It started as a way to keep my family updated
while I was deployed. Now, I mostly plan to use it for blogging (whatever that means) about my
1960 Land Rover
restoration project. My goal is to have it fully completed by the end of 2009 so it will be finished in time for it's
50th birthday! I am also using this site to help launch my new
GUN STORE called "Clay's Armament". My slogan
is "Better Guns for a Better Price" and I mean it. "Watch out! I have an FFL and I know how to use it!"

Feel free to surf around, there are a lot of cool things on the site to see. Thanks for stopping by!

By the way, if you think I can sing or play music you're wrong. You're probably looking for my awesome musical
brother from another mother,
THIS Clay Hughes. Still feel free to check out my site, though :)
You can use the link bar at the top of the page to navigate, but here is a brief synopsis of some of the things you can
expect to find.

As I said, I am currently rebuilding my
1960 Land Rover. The project has been put on hiatus numerous times so now I
just consider it ongoing. My goal is to be finished by the end of 2009 in time for it's 50th birthday party. Have a look at
the Rover pages to see the complete frame-off teardown and follow along with the re-assembly. I will be updating it as
the work is completed at each stage.

In 2005 I took a 4,700 mile road trip from Little Rock to Los Angeles on my 2004 BMW R1150RT motorcycle. Check
out the
California Roadtrip 2005 page to read about the trip and how I earned my first Iron Butt Award.

Most memorably for some of my friends and family is the fact I survived a 3,500 foot
skydive turned crash when my
parachute failed to open. This is where the "experimental parachute test jumper" comment comes into play.

Read more great stupid things people shouldn't do in my "
Things NOT to do" page.

Please be sure to check out the
Troy Miranda dedication page to pay your respects to my friend Troy Miranda. Troy
was a good friend who sadly was killed in action in Baghdad.

Although there is never enough time in the world, I still really enjoy when I can get out and go hiking and camping.
There are a few pictures that can be seen on the
Ozark Highlands Trail page. My friend Doug and I have hiked around
40 miles of the scenic 150 mile trail in Northwest Arkansas. My wife and I also enjoy off road motorcycle camping trips
and pickup truck camping as well.

I have a page for all the random
Funny videos and online games I find online, as well as another page for my favorite
"normal"
links

There is also a family page with pictures of and for my family.

Stop in at the new
GUN STORE

There is plenty more to see so stick around and surf the site a bit, I hope you enjoy!
